The basics
What are super-curriculars?
Super-curriculars are subject-specific activities you do outside the classroom. Academic papers, books, podcasts, online courses, personal projects, competitions, work experience. They're not the same as extracurriculars like sport or music, they need to be directly related to what you're applying to study.
University admissions tutors expect to see them in your personal statement. They want evidence you've engaged with your subject beyond your A-levels. Your personal statement is where you show that.

How it works
From logging to writing.
In three steps.
Step 1 — Pick your topics
Select the courses you're applying to and the app surfaces the topics most relevant to your subject. You can also use AI to find topics, or add your own.
Step 2 — Log your super-curriculars
Browse a database of academic papers, books, podcasts, projects, and more — organised by topic. Or add anything you've already done. Work experience and extracurriculars go in here too.
Step 3 — Write your personal statement
When you open the Statement Builder, everything you've logged is there. Use it to write about your super-curriculars in a way that's relevant to your course and the universities you're targeting.

Just wanted to give you an update on my offers following the few calls we had a few months ago. I’ve received all 5 decisions for Accounting and Finance with 4 contextual offers from KCL, Warwick, QMUL and City. I also want to thank you for all of the support as I couldn’t have gotten this far without your guidance. What you’re doing with Chat University is truly amazing and I wish you all the best

Taveesha here! Hope you're doing well. I got my personal statement reviewed by you back in December for Economics, and I remember you telling me to keep you updated. Well, I got an offer from my first choice LSE last week! Thank you so much for that review session, it definitely felt reassuring before submitting my application.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between super-curriculars and extracurriculars?
Extracurriculars are activities outside school — sport, music, volunteering. Super-curriculars are specifically subject-related — papers you've read, projects you've built, podcasts you've listened to that connect to what you're applying to study. For Russell Group applications, super-curriculars carry more weight in your personal statement.
How many super-curriculars do I need?
There's no magic number. You need enough to show genuine interest in your subject — and you need to be able to write about them meaningfully. Quality matters more than quantity. Two or three things you can speak to properly is better than a long list you barely engaged with.
When should I start?
Year 12. The earlier you start, the more you'll have to choose from when it's time to write. You don't need to do everything at once — just log things as you go.
Can I add super-curriculars I've already done?
Yes. Just add them manually. The logger isn't just for new things — it's for keeping track of everything you've already done so it's ready when you need it.
